The Loyalist Men’s League welcomes all gentlemen from inside or outside the Loyalist residential community.  The League plays each Tuesday morning starting in the spring depending on the course opening for approximately 25 weeks.  You will get to play with your fellow members of all skill levels.  Team games will be balanced as evenly as possible so that we all get to play and enjoy.  Members must hold a valid Golf Association of Ontario (GAO) handicap which allows members of all skill levels to participate equally in friendly competition.

I believe I can safely say that when we broke for the end of the 2021 season in September, we all were wishing that we would see the end of COVID restrictions by the start of the 2022 season.  As the Scottish proverb says, “if wishes were horses beggars would ride”.  I can add that if wishes were golfers, we would all break par.  Except for one or two of you (you know who you are) I doubt if most of us will break par or see the end of COVID restrictions for the 2022 season.  Only time will tell.

The scheduling meeting between the Pro Shop, Ladies League, and our League won’t take place until March or early April. The 2022 schedule will be posted as soon as possible afterwards.  A complete list of the Men’s League Executive will also be posted on our web site at that time:  https://www.loyalistcc.com/category/mens

For those new to our community and those interested in joining the Men’s League or existing members with general questions regarding the League, e.g., how do I obtain a GAO handicap, please do not hesitate to contact me, Ed Kotelniski at loyalistmensleague@gmail.com.  Should there be sufficient interest, I would gladly hold an information session either in person at the Clubhouse or via Zoom during the early spring timeframe.

Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone reading this a very Happy New Year!  For those of you getting an early start to the golf season in warmer climates may you find the fairways and stay away from those gators🐊.  Stay healthy!

Regards, Ed Kotelniski, Captain, Loyalist Men’s League
