All in Scramble
All players hit from tee box and take best drive, from that point all players play own ball to hole with full handicaps.
Exception: Par 3s where each player will play their own ball throughout the hole. Minimum number of drives perplayer is 3, excluding Par 3s. Team score based on best net score per hole.
4 Man Best Ball
Play own ball, team score based on best net score of a player on the hole. 3 man teams allowed phantom ball on each hole, must rotate phantom player from first tee.
Team game – play best shot to the hole. Maximum number of drives per player is 5 for a four man team and 7 per player for a three man team. No phantom ball allowed.
Guest Day – 2 Man Best Ball/2 Man Cumulative Net
A 2 man team both with GO Handicaps will play a 2 Man Best Ball. Each player will play own ball. Team score based on best net score of a player on the hole.
For 2 man teams where only one player has a GO handicap, the handicapped player will play own ball and record gross score, with an Equitable Score maximum per hole, then deduct their handicap to determine a net score for the round. The non-handicapped player will play own ball and record gross score, maximum double par on any hole – their handicap will be calculated, after the game, using the Callaway Scoring System* – both net scores will be added together to establish a team score.
For 2 man teams where both players do not have handicaps, players will play own ball and record gross score, maximum double par on any hole – their handicaps will be calculated, after the game, using the Callaway Scoring System* – both net score will be added together to establish a team score.
*The Callaway System is a handicap algorithm designed to provide a handicap estimate based on one round of play. The Callaway ‘handicap’ can then be used to calculate a net score for that round.
Captain’s Cup Day – Team Cumulative Net Score
Participants are placed into 4 teams (flights) based on handicap. Play own ball, record gross score for each hole then deduct handicap from overall 18 hole total to determine net score. Net scores are aggregated by flight to determine the winning team. To improve pace of play, the maximum number of strokes on any hole will be 10. Each team (flight) will tee off together with a block of tee times.
Modified Alternate Shot
Modified Alternate shot is a stroke play golf competition format for 2-person teams in which both golfers on a team hit drives. The best drive is selected. Players then play alternate shot until into the hole. The golfer whose drive was not chosen hits the second shot. The ball is played as it lies and not to be replaced under any circumstances unless
governed by the rules of golf. Teams will be balanced to the greatest extent possible according to handicap.
Play own ball, record gross and net score per hole and apply applicable Stableford points
for the Net score. (4 points for eagle, 3 for birdie, 2 for par, 1 for bogey).
Add up the Stableford points for the round.
Play own ball, points awarded based on gross score per hole, 4 points for eagle, 3 for birdie, 2 for par, 1 for bogey.
Total number of Stableford points for 18 holes is then added to your handicap. To improve pace of play, a player can pick-up when their number of strokes matches or exceeds their maximum Equitable Score for the hole.
Good, Bad & Ugly
Play own ball, points awarded based on net score per hole, 3 points for eagle, 2 for birdie, 1 for par, 0 for bogey, minus 1 for double bogey or worse.
Tombstone is a fun-spirited competition in which golfers begin the round with an allotment of strokes equal to par plus their
handicap. Individuals play the golf course until their strokes run out. The objective is to get as far down the course as you can before your allotted stokes run out (expire). Your final resting place, where your allotted strokes run out, will be marked with your tombstone (in this case a small flag with your name on it). Complete the round for
handicap purposes. If you finish your round with strokes remaining, (i.e. play your round under net par) your flag will be placed in the back fringe of the 18th hole.
Prizes for winners and consolation prizes for the first 3 to bite the dust.
